PowerDirector also has a mobile version on Playstore, that I have used recently. This allowed me to do edits while still familiarize myself with more functionality. Since the preview window is similar to most video players it feels familiar and starting to edit from there (vs on the tracks) gets you started quicker. In the preview window, you can see your video playing, in PowerDirector the track slider/ seek bar is functional, this is not always the case in other editors. One of the most important beginner-friendly functionality that I found useful when I was starting was the preview window. The user interface is polished and has a premium feel about it, this makes for a positive user experience, encouraging you to explore more, and as a result, being familiar and learning the software. The sample videos that come with it are helpful more especially when you are starting and you are not sure how to import media. It takes some effort and getting used to but I was able to start without online tutorials or a manual.Īdditionally, If you learn it you will be able to use most video editors with minimal challenges. It's intuitive to learn even when you do not have any experience. Pros: PowerDirector was the first video editing software I started with and I used it for over three. It made my life so much easier and I was immediately able to go from zero knowledge to editing pretty good videos for my business.īecause of the combination of great price, great features and abundant tutorial support on YouTube, I highly recommend PowerDirector to other people like me, who need to edit video, they want it to look good, but they're not ready to invest in pro quality editing. But he had such a library of tutorials on YouTube for using PowerDirector. And in fact, there was this one guy, and I'm sorry I forget his name, because he's amazing. But I discovered that there are some wonderful YouTube videos showing us how to use PowerDirector. So I was a little bit intimidated at the outset, because I had to edit videos for my business. Well at first, I really knew nothing about video editing and only done the very basics with Movie Maker and I'd forgotten everything I knew. Between the features that it has, and the price, that was what made me decide. But at the same time, I didn't want to invest in a professional editing software, so the price was right. I wanted to be able to do fancier effects and transitions as my skill in editing grew. I chose PowerDirector first and foremost, because it was robust enough to meet my needs. But I just wanted something quick and easy and I didn't want to invest a lot, and that's why I eventually went with PowerDirector.

I've considered getting some serious software, like Premiere, but. I've actually used that a bit in the past. Well, I use the free Windows Movie Maker. I'm a life and business coach and I give PowerDirector a rating of five out of five.
